EROTIC ENCHANTMENT

There's something utterly enchanting about classic 70s porn. I am totally over the moon obsessed! In a wholesome candy and whistles sense, eu naturally. (P.S. the bush is back) I think it seems to illuminate the female figure, hinting at the well of mysteries and magic that hide behind the images as opposed to the garish portrayal of the vulgar we see creeping on the pages of today. DREAM BABY DREAM...

I am almost positive that somewhere in a parallel universe out there, I am disco dancing down a glitter paved street wearing each of these winter wonders piled on, layer upon layer, shoe upon shoe, braids in hair, channeling moonbeams and listening to this. Yap.

LOOKING GLASS // Arnsdorf

Arnsdorf has been a favourite of mine ever since I was a kitten, I just love designer Jade Sarita Arnot's own brand of understated chic laced with a twist. The emphasis always seems to be placed on sculptural tailoring and colour blocking; memories of past collections scroll through hues of purples and maroons, electric blues and pale pinks even a splash or two of aqua, fashioned into scalloped dresses, jeans, shirts, tailored pants and belts! I remember donning a certain pale pink shirt/pale pink jeans combo rather excessively a few autumns ago coupled with my pale pink Cutler and Gross x Cacherel reading glasses (go figure). I looked like an 80s mum off to the zoo for the most part, but that suited me juuust fine. Jade's latest collection harks back to '1979'. Featuring the dual finesse of Stevie Dance on stylin' and Maya Villager on the flash from ex-Russh fame and online photo journal Turned Out, respectively.  This is to be my favourite collection yet, pineapples, snakeskin boots and metallic jumpsuits? BADLANDS BABY

I love finding new favourites at my local video store, Film Club. They always seem to have a treasure   trove of old classic films, gathering dust on the shelf just waiting for their secrets to be revealed. I picked Badlands last night, and its made its way to somewhere-round-the-top on my all time list. Based on the horrifyingly true story of two renegade teens, Sissy Spacek (70s poster girl; yum) and Martin Sheen (somewhat cooler than the later Sheen) star in the 1973 flick. I love the silken visions of 70s suburban nostalgia in a Lolita-esque playground woven against the tapestry of a bone-chilling Bonny and Clyde murder story, in what becomes a stealthy Cadillac race across the Prairie badlands of Montana.  I'll be channeling Sissy the next time I skip off to the store, in the secret hopes of meeting my very own murderous James Dean doppelgänger to steal me away.

Saturday In the Park

Im not usually one for understated chic casual dressing, or whatever you call it, but sometimes, oh how I wish I was! I do dream of it but when I leave the house wearing jeans, a stripey shirt, ballet flats and a wrist watch (not that I ever have), I would (hypothetically) pick up thrift store junk on the way to 'glitter' the outfit. Here I try my hand at it; this would be as min-chic as it gets, throw in some pink and a splash on neon orange, and voila. Saturday In the Park

Wardrobe vs. Pantry

When two of the universe's greatest things collaborate, the result is bound to be more often than always, bloody brilliant. My heart melted (in my mouth) when I stumbled upon this beautiful blog; Wardrobe vs. Pantry. I think this may be a taste of what heaven looks like...
