LET THEM EAT CHANEL

So, we can now conclude that this was the BEST SHOW EVER. Karl Largerfield, you are one clever little man. Chanel Cruise 2012/13 harks back to the magic and frills of the18th century, set against the backdrop of Le Chateau de Versailles. It seems as though Marie Antoinette found herself a portal and landed in 2012 wearing the same garb, yet laced with a modern punk veneer. Chanel's classic tweeds and pearls, amplified by short coloured crops, signature beauty spots, bows, brocade and creepers make the collection a total amalgamation of everything from the time, fit so eclectically, yet oh classically. Character dressing at it's finest. Wouldn't I like to run around as the Queen of France, head to toe in Chanel! (Yep)

NIGHT AND DAY

I can't really think of anything better than a collob between Lara Stone, Hot Chip and Space with a little bit of interpretive monk dancing on the side... The single Night and Day from Hot Chip's forthcoming LP released on June 4th is all that. But then again I'm not entirely sold on the bands right-hand veer into the the commercial dance vs. weirdass funk disco orbit. Or genre, if you will. I can't wait to hear the entirety of the album, but for now I will just keep this oracular spectacular on repeat, dreaming of my monk inspired tracksuit dress that I will be getting as soon as some genius makes it. CHEER SPIRIT

Loving the shit out of this. I am definitely an ambassador for the kitsch 70's school girl sports vibe we see going on here. The perfect depiction of girl sprouts (similar genre to that of a Lolita) and looming womanhood illustrated by sneaky splashes of leopard skin paired back with florals, cheerleader team skirts and stripy socks. I feel like the only thing thats missing is a pair of Tennesse Thomas Saddle Shoes. I found this shoot in the depths of Rookie Mag, the lovechild online zine of the divine prodigy Miss Tavi Gelvinson who seems to just get better and better with age (she's still only like, 17). It is styled by Petra and was published as a back to school special. Speaking of school, yours truly should probably be getting her school on, Monday is near and my pencil is still sharp. But what the heck, I'll pull out my cheerleader outfit and dance around to some Wanda Jackson instead. Doo doo doo.

I wish I had a pair of glasses that made everything look just like this. Especially on days like today. When its raining. And I really don't feel like doing anything.

LOOKING GLASS // EMMA MULHOLLAND

Beat ball, iguanas and heaps of cactuses (cacti?) all hanging out together in Emma Mulholland's SS12/13 collection, Bad as I Guana Be, how good can it get? Reaaal good. This is my favourite range to come out of MBFW 2012 but instead of showing with the pack during the week, Miss Emma hosted her own desert themed party at the Grand Social and what a perfect way to celebrate a collection that is practically an ode to fun times! And iguanas. Check out the video to accompany it here

IRIDESCENCE

Mermaid dressing at its finest. Josephine Skriver by Colin Dodgeson for the NY Times Style Magazine.

ALEXA

This is what came of bribing my little sis with ten bucks and a fountain of unconditional love to let me take photos of her one wintery afternoon in Perth. She was a little camera shy at first, but I think she photographs beautifully. She wears skirt by Josh Goot knit jumper by Acne, top by American Apparel and dress by Isabel Marant.

VHS VS LIFE

Forging fake memories was fun, especially when it involved making real ones with my favourite amigos from near and far. Click on Val's beautiful head to see Canyons' film clip for their New Tune, When I See You Again.
